4/27 Fuzhou, CCDE 400-007: 883 Points, Passed

I passed with a score of 883. There appeared to be two new questions in the multiple-choice section: one regarding the distinction between "hybrid" and "mix," and another that I’ve since forgotten. As for the drag-and-drop questions, one involved controllers—specifically the concepts of Southbound and Northbound interfaces—requiring six items to be paired up correctly. The remaining questions were essentially identical to the original practice questions, with only the order of the answer choices having been rearranged ... Read More…

April 24, Taipei CCNP 350-401 Pass

The exam had a total of 58 questions. While that doesn't seem like a lot, the practical (LAB) questions were incredibly challenging. Although the question types were all within the question bank, the parameters were wildly different, making rote memorization a recipe for failure. For example, the NetFlow question required adding `collector version 9`. Thankfully, customer service sent me the latest update and told me to make sure I checked the latest version; otherwise, I would have definitely been stuck on that part during the exam. Also, the PortChannel question required manually disabling the original `access VLAN` in the e0/0-2 interface. I hadn't noticed this detail during practice, but customer service representative 01 reminded me that "the default mode will conflict with the Trunk," and sure enough, that was the problem during the exam! Without disabling it first, the subsequent configuration wouldn't work at all. In the multiple-choice section, one question tested the ICMPv6 multicast address. I hadn't seen this question in the old question bank, but luckily I guessed it right based on my intuition. The second question, "Drag and Drop," tested the path to the Ansible hosts file. I remember customer service telling me firmly beforehand, "You must remember it's `/etc/ansible/hosts`," and I easily got the points on that question too! ... Read More…

4 Lab Tasks + 68 Multiple-Choice/Drag-and-Drop Questions = 72 Questions Total. The four lab tasks covered the following topics: VLAN/LLDP, OSPF, IPv4/IPv6 Address Configuration, and EtherChannel. These were the exact tasks included in the exam; however, the specific requirements for the tasks differed slightly from those found in the practice question bank—while the network diagrams remained the same, the IP addresses were different. Regarding the multiple-choice questions, I can't recall the specific details of the new questions I encountered, but the question bank coverage was quite high, and the exam featured a relatively large number of straightforward, simple questions. As for the drag-and-drop questions, I estimate there were about eight or nine of them, and only one of them was a type I hadn't seen before ... Read More…
